Japanese Heritage "TANTETSUKO" spots!
Experience the Industrial Revolution of Hokkaido! Four recommended photogenic spots of the Japanese Heritage "Tantetsuko." These are spots related to "Tantetsuko," where the "Tantetsuko Meal" served for breakfast and lunch at SAPPORO STREAM HOTEL BAR & GRILL Splish originates from.
Since the Meiji era, the rapid modernization of Japan was supported by Hokkaido's coal, steel, ports, and the railway network that connected them. The history that unfolded with Sorachi's "coal mines," Muroran's "steel industry," Otaru's "ports," and the "railways" that connected them, is the story of the northern industrial revolution known as "Tantetsuko."

Bibai City
Coal Mine Memorial Forest Park
This park was developed on the site of the former Mitsubishi Bibai Coal Mine, which closed in 1972.
The two huge 20-meter-high shaft turrets, which were used to carry coal out of the mine and move miners underground, still convey the memory of coal mining. The works of Kan Yasuda, a sculptor from Bibai, are also exhibited on the site.
